What is The Mill’s payment schedule?Initial Deposit $2000.00 Due at contract check, credit card or cash. Please note - deposit must be received to confirm the date. 2nd Payment 20% of estimated contract amount due 2 months after contract no credit cards accepted. 3rd Payment 50% of estimated contract less previously paid deposits due 6 months prior to event. No credit cards accepted. Final Payment 7 days before function by certified check, no credit cards accepted. This will be your final guest count and new minimum. Personal checks for final payments are acceptable if received no later than 10 days prior to function date. Date of Event payment for overtime, last minute additional guests or unforeseen additions to event as requested by Patron. Will I be refunded if I have to cancel my wedding?Deposits and other monies paid on account are non-refundable. Should The Mill be able to rebook your date, we will refund a percentage of your money based on party size and price. Are there any hidden fees I need to know about before I sign the contract?No. You are charged your price per person, 7% tax (on price per person, ceremony and added upgrades), $350.00 service fee and ceremony fee (if applicable). Gratuities for service staff (servers, bartenders, bussers) are included at a rate of 18%. Any additional charges would be for additions and upgrades that you added. Will The Mill pencil or hold a date for me?The Mill has a policy of not penciling dates. What’s included for my price per person?In addition to the menu you selected, The Mill will provide valet parking, direction cards in your choice of white or ivory and blank place cards for you to fill out. We will also provide votive candles to accent your tables for cocktail hour and to accent your centerpieces. Are centerpieces included? Are there any restrictions?It is your responsibility to arrange for centerpieces through a florist or via your own creativity. The Mill does not restrict centerpieces as long as they are not hazardous. Can I decorate the gazebo for my ceremony?Of course. The Mill encourages you to personally decorate or have your florist decorate the gazebo. However, please do not use any adhesives to secure your decorations. Fishing line, twine or wire work well to hold decorations in place and do not cause damage. What time do functions start and end?The Mill accommodates both daytime and evening weddings. Daytime functions must finish by 5pm while evening functions start at 6pm or later. What happens if I can’t have my ceremony outside?The Mill offers alternate indoor locations for weddings held both in The Sienna Café and Waterview Room. Please ask your sales representative for details. Can The Mill host more than one wedding at a time?Yes. The Mill features 2 rooms available for weddings and other celebrations. To provide each function with the attention it deserves, The Mill provides exclusive kitchen space for both functions in separate kitchens and a qualified service staff. What is your server to guest ratio?On average, The Mill provides 1 server for every 14 guests. When do I select my menu?Menu selection and discussion of details occurs in your final review approximately 1 1/2 - 2 months prior to your wedding date. Do I have to pick up my direction cards, place cards and floor plan?The Mill will mail your direction cards if you contact your sales representative and specify quantity and color. Place cards and floor plans are provided during your final review, so you do not need to make an additional trip to pick them up. How do I select my cake?The Mill has a catalog of photographs for you to look through. These photos are available at your tasting nite and during your final review. You do not need to visit the cake shop to select your cake. Are all cakes included in my wedding package?If you have selected a photo of a cake from a bridal magazine or the internet, please look through our cake book first as you may see the cake in our catalog. If you do not, you will be subject to an additional charge. The Mill suggests scanning and emailing the photo to Piece O’ Cake; include your wedding date and time, expected number of guests and contact information so a price quote can be provided. Some fillings, cake types and icings incur additional charges; this information is provided at your tasting nite. Will my package be discounted if I only serve wine and beer?The price of a glass of wine is comparable to the price of a mixed drink. Therefore, The Mill does not discount your package. How much will it cost to extend my cocktail hour by ? an hour?For food and open bar, the cost is $15.00 per person for the premier package, $12.00 per person for the deluxe package and $10.00 per person for the classic package. How much will it cost to extend my wedding at the end of the evening?To keep your party going an extra 30 minutes is $6.00 per person. For 1 hour the cost is $10.00 per person. The fee applies only to your open bar. Vendors may charge additional monies. This option is not available for daytime functions when an evening function is booked. I prefer to bring in my wedding cake, rather than use your bakery. Is there a credit?The Mill does not provide a credit if you order your cake from a bakery we are not associated with. We will, however, offer you a scoop of ice cream to accent each slice of cake or you may add our International Coffee Station How many bartenders will be serving my guests?You are assigned bartenders based on your final number of guests. We provide 1 bartender for up to 70 guests, 2 bartenders for 70 160 guests, and 3 bartenders for over 160 guests. More than 3 bartenders is a hindrance. What if it snows on my wedding day?If the governor declares a state of emergency or there are blizzard conditions in our immediate area, we will postpone your wedding to the next mutually agreeable available date. When do I need to provide my final counts?The Mill will send you an email requesting your counts approximately 17 days before your wedding. We will also attach your function sheet, the details of your wedding discussed at your final review, so you may make any adjustments. If you change your function sheet, please use an alternate color text so changes are obvious. Who do I make my payments to? What is the preferred method of delivery?Please make all checks payable to: The Mill. Please include both the bride’s last name and the groom’s last name with the wedding date in the memo section of the check so payments are applied promptly. We ask that you mail payments to us at 101 Old Mill Road, Spring Lake Heights, NJ 07762. If you wish to drop off your payment, kindly call the banquet department at 732-449-1800 x395 and set up an appointment. If you just “stop by” we may not be able to meet with you immediately and you may have to wait. Is there a fee for my rehearsal?The Mill does not charge a fee for your ceremony rehearsal. Also, rehearsals are scheduled based on our function calendar and can be accommodated most days. Do I have to set up my place cards and favors?You will need to set up an appointment to drop off your accessories prior to your wedding (usually 1-3 days prior). This appointment coincides with your rehearsal (if applicable) and is with the Banquet Manager. You are dropping these items off so The Mill can set them up for you, within reason. Should you have an extremely detailed set-up, additional fees may apply. How early can I arrive the day of my wedding?Most couples will not arrive more than 2 hours before the start of the wedding. Your arrival time will vary if you are taking photographs beforehand or getting dressed at The Mill. Evening arrivals are based on what time the daytime function is finishing. Should you feel the need to arrive more than 2 hours prior to your wedding, additional fees will apply. Does The Mill have a bridal suite?The Waterview Room features a bridal suite but The Sienna Café does not. |
